Soumyo Bhattacharjee: Hello to all three candidates here. I am from The Scholars’ Avenue, and I’ll be asking a question that I hope you would be answering. So my question is, we have gone through your proposals, and those mostly have a long-term impact in IIT Kharagpur. The students have recently struggled with issues of water supply and electricity. What are the top two things that you see as a priority if elected as Vice President, having an impact as soon as possible?

Brahmjot Singh: Thank you for your question. I request the candidates to answer the question one by one.

Shreyansh Jha: Definitely, sir! If elected as the Vice President, Technology Students’ Gymkhana, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, I will prioritize this and look into this issue so that it can be addressed and work for the welfare of the general body.

Panelist: Excuse me, could you clarify? Are you saying the top two issues for you are water and electricity?

Shreyansh Jha: Sir, I have already mentioned these are the two concerns that need to be addressed, and if elected as the Vice President, Technology Students’ Gymkhana, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, I need to discuss this with the institute administration to work on this on an urgent basis.

Brahmjot: Thank you, Shreyansh; you can have your seat. I request the next candidate to come up and answer the question.

Vibhanshu Vaibhav: Sir, in the past three years of my campus life, the various difficulties that I have faced, that I talked to stakeholders about, I have addressed in my proposal. However, if elected as Vice President, Technology Students’ Gymkhana, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, I will try to facilitate solving the accommodation crisis and making the campus a more inclusive and safer place to stay.

Brahmjot: Thank you, Vibhanshu. You can have your seat. Next, I would like to call Samarth Singh.

Samarth Singh: Sir, thank you for acknowledging that our proposals have a long-term impact, but as you mentioned, yes, these are the two current problems each and every student and even members of the academic staff and workers face in this institute. The problems regarding water supply and electricity, talking about the water supply, as stated in the vision of Prof. Virendra Kumar Tiwari on the institute website page, will start by the end of his tenure. We’ll be restructuring our water supply and working towards changing it into a new one. Currently, we are in the phase of change, and in the coming years, it’ll be solved. If elected as Vice President of the student community, I will be working towards [inaudible] solving this issue.

Brahmjot: Thank you, Samarth, for your answer.
